Hi. I’m Kimberly Kerlin.
Our earliest experiences of life form the foundation for the rest of our life. I work with adults struggling to heal wounds and reduce anxiety and conflict in their lives. Whether you’re finding your own childhood experiences being triggered by your child’s or partner’s behavior today; a working parent attempting to balance the competing needs of your workplace, partner, or child; feeling overwhelmed by life transitions (i.e. divorce, loss of a loved one, new job, etc), someone suffering from perinatal anxiety or depression, or someone who has experienced a trauma and wants to be free of its grip, I welcome you.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Lafayette, CA, serving individuals and families in central Contra Costa County in the San Francisco East Bay.
While I use a number of therapeutic approaches, my primary approach to working with you therapeutically is AEDP, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. AEDP is an integration of many approaches, such as attachment theory, mindfulness, somatic healing, and psychodynamic theory. I also utilize EMDR for trauma treatment and CBT as needed.
